UAE and Brazil Deepen Economic Engagement as Business Leaders Meet in São Paulo

Fri 04/9/2026

The United Arab Emirates and Brazil brought together senior business leaders, investors and representatives of major institutions in São Paulo for a high-level economic engagement focused on expanding trade, investment and long-term commercial partnerships between the two countries.

Organized by the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in partnership with the UAE-Brazil Chamber of Commerce, the event gathered approximately 30 senior Brazilian business leaders, including representatives of major Brazilian business groups, alongside executives from leading UAE companies and institutions active in or exploring opportunities in Brazil.

The UAE delegation included representatives of Emirates Airline, dnata, EDGE Group, Mubadala Capital, Dubai Chambers, First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) and Dubai Ports. The participation of companies and institutions spanning investment, banking, aviation, logistics, infrastructure, technology and advanced industries underscored the breadth of the UAE’s economic engagement with Brazil.

H.E. Sharif Al Suwaidi, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Brazil, said the relationship between the two countries continues to deepen, with a growing emphasis on translating strong diplomatic ties into tangible economic partnerships and expanding practical cooperation across areas of mutual interest.

“Brazil is a key strategic partner for the United Arab Emirates, and our economic relationship is increasingly driven by investment, innovation and private-sector engagement. Bringing leading companies and investors from both countries together in São Paulo is an important step in turning the strength of our bilateral relationship into concrete business opportunities and long-term partnerships.”

The discussions focused on areas with significant potential for bilateral cooperation, including trade and investment, infrastructure and logistics, energy transition and sustainability, artificial intelligence and digital transformation, financial services, defense and advanced technologies, innovation and other emerging sectors.

Rather than being limited to institutional dialogue, the engagement provided a direct forum for Brazilian business leaders and UAE companies to discuss commercial opportunities, investment prospects and potential partnerships. The format enabled participants to exchange views on market opportunities and identify areas where the interests of companies from both countries could converge.

For UAE companies, Brazil represents a market with significant opportunities across infrastructure, logistics, energy, technology, financial services, aviation and other strategic sectors. For Brazilian companies and investors, the UAE offers an important platform for international expansion, investment and access to broader regional and global markets.

Muna Al Falahi, Head of the Economic Affairs at the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Brasília, said the engagement was designed to strengthen direct connections between the private sectors of both countries and create opportunities for sustained commercial cooperation:
“Our objective is to create meaningful connections between the UAE and Brazilian private sectors and to turn these relationships into opportunities for sustained commercial engagement. São Paulo brings together a particularly dynamic business community, and this engagement allowed us to connect UAE companies directly with Brazilian decision-makers across several strategic areas.”

The participation of major UAE institutions alongside prominent Brazilian business groups also reflected the increasingly diversified nature of economic relations between the two countries. Cooperation is expanding beyond traditional trade flows to encompass investment, technology, infrastructure, advanced industries and private-sector partnerships.

The São Paulo engagement forms part of the Embassy’s broader economic diplomacy efforts to strengthen direct connections between the UAE and Brazilian business communities and to create practical channels for continued commercial dialogue.

The discussions are expected to support further engagement among participating companies and institutions, including follow-up meetings and the exploration of specific opportunities for investment and cooperation.

The UAE and Brazil have continued to strengthen their strategic relationship, with economic and investment ties becoming an increasingly important component of the bilateral agenda. Initiatives that bring senior decision-makers from both business communities together are helping to translate this broader relationship into new commercial connections and opportunities for long-term cooperation.
