- Important visits are exchanged between the two countries including at the highest level.
- Berdymuhamedov visited UAE in August 2007 and February 2010.
- The president of UAE and ruler of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, visited Turkmenistan in February 2008.
- UAE minister for energy, H.E. Mohammed bin Dhaen al Hameli visited Turkmenistan in April 2010 for participation in the international gas congress, and in November 2010 for oil and gas conference.
- A joint delegation including Ali Jassim Al Attiya, personal advisor to the minister of presidential affairs of UAE, and the CEO of Korean company Daewoo, met the Turkmen president in April.
- HH Sheikh Surur bin Muhammad Al Nahyan, leading a UAE delegation, met the Turkmen president in June 2010.
- Ambassador Hassan Abdullah Al Adhab had a meetings with Reshit Meredov, foreign minister of Turkmenistan in May and December 2010.
- In February 2010, Reshit Meredov, deputy prime minister and foreign minister of Turkmenistan, and Tuvakmammed Japbarov, deputy prime minister for economy and development, visited UAE for the investment forum. They were received by HE Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
- HH Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed (numerous positions including the head of IPIC) visited Turkmenistan in February 2011 and had a meeting with the president of Turkmenistan. Ways and means were discussed to enhance the mutually beneficial relations in key areas.
- HH Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, minister of foreign affairs of UAE, met President Berdymuhamedov in Ashgabat on 20 November 2011.All aspects of mutual relations were discussed during the meeting. The same day, an agreement was signed to establish a joint committee for cooperation between UAE and Turkmenistan.
