  • According to the data provided by the ministry of economy and development, 51 UAE companies are registered in Turkmenistan with involvement of UAE capital, of which 18 are legal entities.
  • As of 1 January 2011, 58 projects and contracts are registered in Turkmenistan with participation of UAE companies, of which 53 projects amount to US $ 117.2 million, this is in addition to the service contracts worth US $ 5 billion.
  • UAE is the fifth largest trading partner of Turkmenistan, after Russia, Iran, China and Turkey.
  • The Turkmen ambassador to UAE said in October 2011 that the trade turnover between the two countries had increased by fivefold during the past year but he did not give any figures.
  • UAE minister of economy, Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, said in November 2011 during his visit to Turkmenistan that the mutual trade turnover increased from AED 450 million in 2008 to AED 700 million in 2010.
