Zayed Charity Run Holds Its First-Ever Edition in Brazil at Copacabana Beach
The Consulate General of the United Arab Emirates in São Paulo is proud to celebrate the inaugural Brazilian edition of the Zayed Charity Run — Run for Kindness, held on 5 October 2025 at Copacabana Beach, Rio de Janeiro.
With more than two thousand participants competing in 5 km and 10 km races, the event transformed Copacabana Beach into a celebration of unity, generosity, and hope, with a portion of the proceeds directed to RioSolidário. Created in 2001 in the United Arab Emirates, the Zayed Charity Run is held in honour of the humanitarian legacy of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the Founding Father of the UAE. The race has previously taken place in cities including Abu Dhabi, New York, Cairo, Miami, and Beijing.
The event was promoted by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Brazil, and ERTH Abu Dhabi, with the support of the Municipality of Rio de Janeiro and RioSolidário, and with the backing of companies including EDGE Group, DP World, DNATA, Acelen, Emirates Airlines, Base Exchange, Dubai Chamber, First Abu Dhabi Bank, and FGV.
The arrival of the Zayed Charity Run in Brazil marks a milestone in the cultural and humanitarian ties between the UAE and Brazil, bringing the race's global message of compassion and solidarity to South America for the first time.
