His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Abdullah Al Matrooshi, the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Romania, gave an interview to the Romanian journalist Cristina Cileacu, for “Diplomatic Passport”, a weekly television programme on diplomacy and foreign policy, which she produces for the Romanian news agency "Digi24".
At the beginning of the interview, His Excellency gave a brief presentation on the latest developments related to the epidemiological situation in the United Arab Emirates, context in which, the UAE Ambassador emphasized the success the wise leadership of the state has achieved, in vaccinating the majority of its population, both citizens and residents, in order to ensure stability in both health and economic fields, in these difficult times.
The interview focused on the empowerment of women, in the UAE, context in which the Ambassador spoke about the important role that Emirati women have been playing in building the Emirati society since the founding of the state, as well as about their current contribution to all the achievements of the nation, in all fields and at all levels.
In this context, His Excellency mentioned that part of the team involved in The Emirates Mars Mission, "Hope Probe", consists of women, highlighting, at the same time, the fact that women in the UAE occupy important positions in politics, diplomacy, administration, education, technology and health.
At the end of the interview, His Excellency the Ambassador spoke about Expo 2020 Dubai, pointing out that gender equality in the UAE is also reflected in the network of organizers and employees of this event, which will be the global focal point of celebrations and surprises, for a period of six months, starting from October, this year
