The Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Autonomous Regional Authority of Cundinamarca (ARAC) and the Colombian Space Agency (AEC) to enhance bilateral cooperation in space science and technology between the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Colombia.

The MoU was signed during an official visit by a MBRSC delegation to Colombia, in the presence of H.E. Mohamed Abdullah Bin Khater AlShamsi, UAE Ambassador to Colombia.

The signing ceremony was attended by Engineer Salem Humaid Al Marri, Director General of MBRSC; Dr. Alfred Ignacio Ballesteros, Director General of ARAC; and Dr. Pilar Zamora, Founder and CEO of AEC.

The MoU aims to establish a comprehensive framework for cooperation between the two parties in several areas, including supporting joint scientific research and innovation, exchanging knowledge and expertise in space science, and strengthening mechanisms for sharing space data between the two countries. The memorandum of understanding also aims to develop human capital and build national expertise in both countries through the implementation of joint scientific and technological projects that contribute to supporting space exploration efforts and the development of advanced technologies, thereby enhancing the two countries' contribution to the development of the global space sector.

The signing of this memorandum comes within the framework of the UAE's national strategy aimed at consolidating its position as a leading nation in the space sector by strengthening international partnerships and exchanging expertise with various countries and global institutions operating in this vital sector.
