Bilateral Relations
The United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Guinea share growing bilateral relations founded on friendship, cooperation, and mutual interests. Diplomatic relations were established on June 2, 1995. Guinea opened its Embassy in Abu Dhabi in 2005, while the UAE established its Embassy in Conakry pursuant to a federal decree issued in 2011.
Political relations continue to develop through coordination and the exchange of views on regional and international issues of mutual interest. Through diplomatic engagement and exchanges, both countries remain committed to strengthening bilateral cooperation and advancing a partnership founded on friendship, solidarity, and shared aspirations.
Economic Cooperation
Economic cooperation is a key pillar of relations between the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Guinea, particularly in mining, infrastructure, trade, and investment. The two countries have concluded agreements on the avoidance of double taxation and the promotion and protection of investments, providing a framework for strengthening bilateral economic ties.
Mining is a significant area of cooperation, reflecting Guinea’s rich bauxite resources and UAE investment in the sector. Bilateral cooperation also includes exploring opportunities in the Boké region and expanding partnerships that support the economic interests of both countries.
Cultural Cooperation
Cultural and educational cooperation between the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Guinea supports knowledge exchange and strengthens ties between their peoples.
In 2026, Sharjah’s Department of Culture, in cooperation with the Faculty of Letters at General Lansana Conté University in Conakry, organized the fifth edition of the Arabic Poetry Forum in Guinea. The event brought together poets, academics, and researchers to celebrate Arabic literature and promote cultural dialogue.
Cooperation also extends to professional education and capacity building. In 2025, Guinea’s Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation reported a partnership with the Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government to provide scholarships for Guinean officials to undertake training in governance and public administration.
