HE Eng. Abdullah bin Mohammed Balheif Al Nuaimi, UAE's Minister of Infrastructure Development – accompanied with the Ministry representatives and HE Ali Abdulla Alahmad-The Minister of the UAE in Germany- Opened the event of the 35th International Automation and Robotics round managed by IAARC, in Berlin on July 22 for three days with a distinguished international presence.
In the same context, the United Arab Emirates has become a member of the International Organization for Automation and Robotics in the field of construction, becoming the first country in the Middle East to become a member of the organization consisting of 22 developed and Robotics specialized countries, aiming to promote the sector and develop the field in line with the future vision To Member States.
The UAE delegation also held a coordination meeting with the Board of Trustees of the International Organization for Automation and Robotics in Construction, which reviewed the State Strategy for Artificial Intelligence, that the services, sectors and future infrastructure of the UAE will depend on in proportion to the UAE Centennial Vision 2071, which aims to position the UAE the top in the world in all fields. The project was also presented by the Robotic Engineer, which uses artificial intelligence, to be the first of its kind in the world.
At the beginning of his speech, HE Dr. Eng. Abdullah Belheif Al Nuaimi, Minister of Infrastructure Development, congratulated the UAE leadership for achieving the sixth position in the global index of e-services, according to the e-Government Development Report of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for 2018 , Stressing that this achievement leads us to further work and effort to continue towards the first place, pointing out that the next stage is the stage of artificial intelligence in various fields, including infrastructure, Which supports the state's direction in its quest to lead the world in the transformation of smart, which is a key element of artificial intelligence sought by the United Arab Emirates.
HE. Also stressed that The UAE holds a global reputation for its ability to keep abreast of modernity, its belief in the importance of change that is in line with the latest developments in the era, and the aspiration of the wise leadership in leading the country in various fields, including the infrastructure and housing sector considering it as a vital instruments for achieving comprehensive development.
The Minister pointed out that the hosting of the UAE as a guest of honor for the opening of the conference in an advanced country such as Germany is an affirmation of the status of the UAE in terms of artificial intelligence and its ability to keep pace with the future in adopting innovations and supporting innovators for their belief in their vital role in serving all humanity.
In the opening address H.E said: It is my pleasure to be among you today and represent the United Arab Emirates, which leads the world in the field of artificial intelligence thanks to the belief of the wise leadership in the importance of keeping pace with the future and adopting innovations that support the great achievements of the UAE during its marches. I would also like to express my gratitude to the conference organizers.
H.E. also welcomed the key regional and international stakeholders to develop the latest innovations, solutions and knowledge of the best engineering practices that contribute significantly to the establishment of an excellent infrastructure. Pointing out that the UAE will participate in partnership with stakeholders as a global platform to benefit and publish the latest findings in the field of artificial intelligence to achieve future aspirations in infrastructure.
The project was followed by a video presentation of the Robotic Consultant Engineer project and the role of this pioneering project in supporting the future directions of the infrastructure sector. His Excellency also honored the winning students of the Ministry of Infrastructure Development Award for Best Innovative Project for Safe Virtual Construction Testbed.
His Excellency Ambassador Ali Abdullah Al Ahmad praised the distinguished relations between the United Arab Emirates and Germany, which are no longer limited to economic aspects, where recent years have witnessed a remarkable development in cooperation in many scientific and cultural activities, stressing that there are still large areas for greater cooperation and benefit for both sides. H.E. also pointed out that investment in future technology and scientific research is one of the areas towhich the leadership pays particular attention. Al-Ahmad expressed his pleasure that the UAE is the guest of honor of the current session and the first Arab country to become a member of the International Organization for Automation and Robotics in the field of construction.
On the sidelines of the conference, a joint cooperation agreement was signed by Eng. Anwar Al-Shammari, Chief Innovation Officer and Head of the Artificial Intelligence Team at the Ministry of Infrastructure Development, and Prof. Karl Haas, President of the International Organization for Automation and Robotics in Construction. The agreement aims to enhance the use of artificial intelligence in the field of infrastructure and support of the pilot project and emphasizing on the share and benefit from the experiences that serve both the UAE and the Organization.
