Consul General in MUMBAI Met Advisor to Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra

H. E. Abdulla AlMarzooqi, Consul General met with Dr Anand Bang - Advisor to Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Mr. Parikshit Dhume - President - Intellectual cell, Thane, BJP Maharashtra, Mr. Nikhil Nangude – Officer of Special Duty to Skill Development Minister, Mr. Shardul Fadnavis - Energy Expert in Mumbai on 12th September, 2023 to discuss various opportunities and exchange programs between Maharashtra and UAE and to strengthen the Economic and Trade Relationship.

Dr. Anand Bang and his team informed us that the Government of Maharashtra would like to discuss various possible partnerships with UAE and also, they wanted to know if any UAE companies or the Consulate General in Mumbai are facing any kind of challenges in Maharashtra.

During the interaction, there was a discussion on UAE being one of the leading markets in the world. It became evident that there is significant potential for collaborative efforts between India and the UAE to enhance bilateral trade, investment, as well as foster exchange programs for students and doctors. Consequently, Dr Anand expressed a keen interest in investigating the opportunities for a visit to the UAE, with the aim of engaging with relevant departments and stakeholders in sectors such as Artificial Intelligence, Green Energy, Skill Innovation, Medical, Higher Education, Agriculture, Food Security, Arts and Culture, and Investment. Furthermore, Dr Anand is enthusiastic about facilitating partnerships between UAE-based companies and their Indian counterparts through joint ventures.

Excellency Highlighted that India is already an important partner for the UAE and signing of CEPA has strengthen this relationship and leverage our shared ambition to use trade as a catalyst for economic growth and prosperity. The direct benefits of our CEPA are clear as it has the potential to boost bilateral trade by USD 100 billion in the coming future. Excellency also mentioned about upcoming prestigious COP28 UAE event.

Dr Anand bang requested Excellency’s support in connecting them with concerned authorities in UAE like with UAE Trade Promotion Bodies, List of Companies in UAE who are interested to setup Joint Ventures with Indian Companies in various sectors, etc. His Excellency assured his full support in connecting them to the concerned authorities for trade and collaboration opportunities in UAE.
