UAE Embassy in Kigali Hosts Iftar to Promote Tolerance and Interfaith Coexistence

The Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Kigali, in partnership with the Rwanda Muslim Community, organized the “Interfaith Iftar Initiative,” with the attendance of senior Government of Rwanda officials, religious leaders, members of the diplomatic corps, and community figures.

This Ramadan event aimed to promote the values of tolerance and peaceful coexistence among different cultures and religions, while providing a platform for dialogue and mutual understanding among communities, reflecting the UAE’s humanitarian message of spreading peace and building bridges of communication.

Mr. Mohammed Al Kaabi, Chargé d’Affaires at the UAE Embassy to the Republic of Rwanda, emphasized that the initiative represents an opportunity to bring together representatives of different faiths in a spirit of respect, friendship, and shared humanity. He highlighted that the UAE places great importance on tolerance, diversity, and peaceful coexistence.

He also noted that the Holy Month of Ramadan embodies the values of compassion, generosity, and closeness among peoples, and underscores the importance of dialogue in light of global challenges, contributing to peace and stability.

Participants commended the initiative, noting that it reflects the UAE’s commitment to promoting interfaith dialogue and strengthening social harmony, and emphasized the importance of continuing such initiatives to build trust and mutual understanding.

The event concluded with a shared Iftar in a Ramadan atmosphere that reflected the spirit of solidarity and fraternity among diverse communities.
