HE Khalifa Shaheen Almarar Participates in Extraordinary Session of the IGAD Assembly of Heads of State and Government

His Excellency Khalifa Shaheen Almarar, Minister of State, headed the UAE delegation to the Extraordinary Session of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) Assembly of Heads of State and Government, which was held in Uganda, at Uganda’s Presidential Palace.

During the session, the parties discussed the latest developments in the relations between Somalia and Ethiopia, which are both members of IGAD, as well as efforts to resolve the ongoing conflict in Sudan between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces.

IGAD is seeking to find ways to support peace, security and stability within the Horn of Africa.
