UAE Minister of State Begins Virtual Tour of Sub-Saharan Africa to Boost Cooperation and Regional Engagement

His Excellency Sheikh Shakhbout bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of State, began a virtual tour of numerous Sub-Saharan African nations to boost cooperation between the United Arab Emirates and its partners across the African continent.
During the tour, His Excellency Sheikh Shakhbout will meet with counterparts in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Officials will discuss priority files of mutual concern, as well as regional and international developments of interest.
His Excellency will also address the challenges facing the region and world, particularly in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, and review efforts to strengthen international cooperation and solidarity in the recovery period.
Commenting on the tour, His Excellency Sheikh Shakhbout remarked, “With the commencement of today’s virtual tour throughout Sub-Saharan Africa, we in the UAE are keen to explore pathways of cooperation that will further bolster ties with African nations.
Historically, the UAE has long been committed to strengthening its ties with African partners to generate mutual opportunities for growth across the political, economic, and cultural spheres.”
“Our shared aspirations of securing a better, more sustainable future for all will guide the activities of this tour in all efforts to boost prosperity for our peoples through open exchange and engagement,” His Excellency added.
