The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation on Tuesday condemned the continuous targeting of Saudi cities with ballistic missiles by the Houthi and Saleh militias.

This confirms the ongoing smuggling of arms through the Port of Hodeidah, still under militia control.

In a statement, the ministry stressed the UAE's call for an international position on the Port of Hodeidah, to enhance humanitarian relief operations and the delivery of international aid, and to prevent weapons smuggling by the militias, who prolong the crisis and exacerbate the humanitarian situation in Yemen.

The ministry also said that the targeting of Saudi cities with ballistic missiles indicates that the militias are working to undermine any political efforts to end the Yemeni crisis and that regional parties are working to serve their agenda by fuelling the conflict and the continuation of instability in the region.

Notably, the Arab Coalition called on the United Nations to put the strategic port of Hodeidah, currently held by the Houthi and Saleh militias, under its supervision to facilitate the flow of humanitarian supplies to the Yemeni people and to prevent the smuggling of weapons at the port.
