His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, in the presence of H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mu'alla, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Umm Al Qaiwain, received HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister of Bahrain and his accompanying delegation, this evening at his majlis in Qasr Al Bahr.
Sheikh Mohamed welcomed Prince Salman and praised the strong fraternal bonds between the UAE and Bahrain. He expressed hope that the people of Bahrain would continue their march for progress and development, under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa.
Prince Salman said he was pleased to meet Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mu'alla, the Sheikhs and the people of the UAE.
"The GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) is one coherent family and such majlis’, where citizens from all walks of life come and meet, is at the heart of our traditions and customs," he said.
Prince Salman noted that these majlis’ have long overgrown their traditional role in also serving as cultural and intellectual forums. He commended Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed’s keenness to hold these gatherings with the citizens to identify their needs, as well as other cultural and scientific gatherings.
Also present at the gathering were Dr. Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Speaker of Federal National Council (FNC), H.H. Sheikh Saif bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, H.H. Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, H.H. Sheikh Khalid bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Zayed Higher Organisation for Humanitarian Care and Special Needs (ZHO), Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, Sheikhs, ministers, senior officials, citizens and members of the delegation accompanying Prince Salman.
