UAE Ambassador meets Philippines Foreign Secretary

H.E. Mousa Abdul Wahid Al Khaja, UAE Ambassador to the Philippines,met with Philippine Foreign Secretary Perfecto Yasay and Assistant Secretary Hjayceelyn Quintana, at the Office of the Middle East and African Affairs Department, at the end of his tenure as ambassador.

During the meeting, the UAE Ambassador confirmed the keenness of the UAE leadership represented by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to develop bilateral relations with friendly countries. He also expressed the UAE’s desire to take relations between the two countries in multiple fields to higher levels in line with the country foreign affairs' strategy.

They also reviewed ways to boost ties and hold political consultations between senior officials as well as enhance relations in the trade, economy, tourism, health and medical treatment domains.

The Philippine Foreign Secretary extended thanks and appreciation to the UAE's efforts to take bilateral relations between the two countries to a higher level. He also appreciated the UAE embassy in Manila for bolstering bilateral relations in the trade and economic sectors and other fields.

Yasay also extended appreciation to the government of the UAE and its keenness to secure a decent life for the Philippines' laborers in the UAE.

Al Khaja congratulated the Philippine Foreign Secretary on his new post, and wished that President of the Philippines Rodrigo Duterte would achieve his political programme and improve the living standards of the friendly people of the Philippines.
