UAE calls for extraordinary Arab Ministerial Council meeting to discuss Israeli aggressions in Palestine

The UAE has called for convening an extraordinary Arab Foreign Ministers' meeting to discuss the aggressions meted out against Palestinians by Israeli authorities.

This came in a speech delivered by H.E.  Mohammed bin Nakhaira Al Dhaheri, UAE Ambassador to Egypt and Permanent Representative, while chairing the extraordinary session held at the General Secretariat of the Arab League at the level of permanent representatives.

He added that the meeting is held at request of Palestine and backed by the UAE, Jordan, Egypt and Saudi Arabia to discuss serious escalation of the Israeli government and settlers in Jerusalem.

"We are meeting to take a resolution that would stop Israeli crimes and protect our holy sites and children. We have to take a serious stand to further urge the international community to shoulder its responsibilities," said Al Dhaheri.

He said that the UAE condemned in the strongest possible terms the crimes being committed daily by the Israeli authorities and settlers in Jerusalem.

"This is a serious escalation against Palestinians, their territory and holy sites," Al Dhaheri said.

The UAE ambassador noted that the great efforts undertaken by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan under the patronage of His Majesty King Abdullah II in defence of the holy sites in Jerusalem must be reinforced.
