About the Ambassador

• H.E Omar Obaid Alshamsi UAE ambassador to The Republic of Italy, who holds a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations and Translation from the University of Strasburg in France in 1996, joined the diplomatic workforce in 1996. • In 1998, his Excellency was posted to the UAE embassy in Paris, where he served until 2002. From 2002-2006, • His Excellency served as Head of consular affairs at the UAE Embassy to the Republic of Lebanon. • H.E was then posted to the UAE Embassy to the United States of America in Washington in 2006 where he served until 2019 before being appointed as Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Italy in 9 May 2019.
