About the Ambassador

H.E. Abdulla Ali AlSubousi, UAE Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Italy graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1997 with a double major in Political Science and International Relations and a minor in History, and was appointed to the diplomatic and consular corps in 1999. Until 2001, H.E. AlSubousi worked as Chief of the European Union desk at the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs. From 2001 to 2010, H.E. Abdulla AlSubousi has served in the UAE Embassy in Washington D.C., firstly as Director of Congressional Affairs, then as Consul and Head of Legal Affairs and finally as Head of the Political Section. In 2010, H.E. AlSubousi was appointed Director of the American and Pacific Affairs Department at the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs. From 2013 to 2019, Hi Excellency was Consul General in Los Angeles, and then served as Ambassador from 2019 to 2023 in Australia.
