The United Arab Emirates and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan maintain diplomatic relations encompassing a broad constellation of economic, commercial, developmental, educational, cultural, and technical domains. Bilateral interaction is facilitated through established diplomatic channels, high-level official exchanges, institutional coordination mechanisms, and sector-specific initiatives of mutual interest.
Economic cooperation constitutes a central component of bilateral engagement. The UAE is among Pakistan’s principal economic partners and a significant source of foreign direct investment. Collaborative activity extends across the private sector, infrastructure, logistics, financial services, energy, aviation, technology, and other sectors that contribute to economic development and commercial connectivity between the two countries.
The two countries have concluded a range of bilateral instruments, agreements, memoranda of understanding, and cooperative frameworks covering economic, commercial, scientific, technical, educational, cultural, and developmental fields. These arrangements provide an institutional architecture for coordination between relevant governmental entities, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders.
The UAE and Pakistan maintain regular diplomatic consultations and official engagements aimed at advancing areas of mutual interest. Bilateral cooperation is further reflected through participation in regional and international forums, as well as through initiatives relating to education, culture, humanitarian assistance, capacity development, and knowledge exchange.
Diplomatic relations between the UAE and Pakistan were established following the founding of the United Arab Emirates in 1971. Pakistan was among the first countries to establish diplomatic relations with the UAE, providing an early framework for continued diplomatic engagement and institutional cooperation between the two countries.
