His Excellency Abdalla Hassan Alshamsi presented a copy of his credentials to His Excellency Melaku Bedada, Chief of Protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, on 3-July 2026 as Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.

President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has sent a congratulatory message to President Sahle-Work Zewde of Ethiopia on the occasion of her country's National Day.

The projects include the construction of four schools comprising 70 classes, libraries, administration offices and laboratories, which will benefit 7,500 students, and a childhood and motherhood hospital that will benefit 100,000 cases annually.

The aid was sent to support Ethiopian families affected by the events taking place in the country, most notably women and children.

The UAE, through the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), has donated a number ambulances to support the healthcare sector in Ethiopia and enhance its related logistics capacities.

The two sides reviewed a number of regional and international issues of common interest.

Two humanitarian aid flights ordered by Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to transport much needed aid to Sudan and Ethiopia have reached Khartoum and Addis Ababa.

They also explored the latest regional and international efforts to achieve peace, stability and development, especially in African countries.

His Excellency Eng. Aisha Muhammad Musa, Minister of National Defense in the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, received H.E Mohamed Salem Al Rashdi, the UAE ambassador to Ethiopia, on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at the headquarters of the Ministry of Defense in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa. During the meeting, issues of common concern were discussed between the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Ethiopia, and issues related to the areas of defense and military cooperation. The Minister of Defense praised the depth of the Ethiopian-Emirati relations, and the need to work to strengthen them to a better level. For his part, H.E the ambassador stated the UAE’s keenness to cooperate and strengthen ties in various fields with the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.
