The UAE Embassy in Sofia organized a forum to highlight investment opportunities in the UAE, with the participation of the President of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, representatives from Flydubai, and Bulgarian companies specializing in the food, agriculture, energy, construction, and healthcare sectors. The event focused on the UAE's attractive investment climate.

His Excellency Georgi Peev, Minister of Transport and Communications of the Bulgarian Government, received His Excellency Abdulrahman Ahmed Aljaber, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the Republic of Bulgaria. The meeting addressed opportunities to strengthen bilateral relations in the transport and communications sector, which would contribute to serving development goals and logistics sectors of mutual interest.

His Excellency Abdulrahman Ahmed Aljaber, UAE Ambassador to the Republic of Bulgaria, met with His Excellency Ilin Dimitrov, Minister of Tourism of the Republic of Bulgaria. The meeting focused on ways to enhance tourism promotion between the two friendly countries.

The UAE Embassy in Sofia celebrated the 54th anniversary of the UAE National Day, in the presence of Her Excellency Iliana lotova, Vice President of the Republic of Bulgaria, Her Excellency Yuliana Mateva, Deputy Speaker of Parliament, His Excellency Miroslav Borchosh, Minister of Tourism of the Republic of Bulgaria, His Eminence the Grand Mufti of the Republic of Bulgaria, and a number of senior officials of the Republic of Bulgaria and members of the diplomatic corps accredited to the Republic of Bulgaria.

At the coordination of the UAE Embassy in the Republic of Bulgaria, a virtual meeting was held between the National Archives and Library of the UAE and the National Archives Agency of the Republic of Bulgaria, with the participation of His Excellency Abdulrahman Ahmed Aljaber, UAE Ambassador to the Republic of Bulgaria. The meeting explored potential areas of cooperation between the two institutions, aiming to enrich research and scholarship related to the history of the two friendly nations.

The UAE Embassy in Sofia, in cooperation with the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, organized an event at the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Sofia to commemorate the 33rd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. During the event, His Excellency Ivan Kondov, Bulgarian Minister of Foreign Affairs, and His Excellency Abdulrahman Ahmed Aljaber, UAE Ambassador to the Republic of Bulgaria, praised the strong and growing bilateral relations between the two friendly nations. The event was attended by His Excellency Rossi Ivanov, Secretary to the President of the Republic for Foreign Policy; Her Excellency Zornitsa Apostolova, Advisor to the President of the Republic for Foreign Policy; His Excellency Nikolay Pavlov, Deputy Minister of Economy and Industry; Ambassadors of Arab countries and several heads of diplomatic missions accredited to the Republic of Bulgaria; directors of the Middle East and Africa, International Relations, and United Nations departments of the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and a number of public figures. The event included a photo exhibition showcasing bilateral relations and historical meetings between the leaders of the two countries.

His Excellency Abdulrahman Ahmed Aljaber presented his credentials to His Excellency Rumen Radev, President of the Republic of Bulgaria.

President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Thursday received President of the Republic of Bulgaria, Rumen Georgiev Radev, who is on a working visit to the UAE.

A working meeting between the UAE Minister of Education Hussain Ibrahim Al Hammadi and his Bulgarian counterpart Krasimir Valchev took place online with the participation of the Chargé d'Affairs at the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Sofia Mr. Tariq Bawazir and Dr. Sheikh Ammar Al Mualla, Director of Educational Organizations and External Relations. During the meeting was discussed the significance of the solidarity and the joint efforts in the face of Covid-19 and the ways to support the continuity of education and the exchange of current experiences in the field of distance education, in addition to the mechanism of action towards developing the future educational process and how to benefit from the current situation in a positive way.

Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh, Minister of State, met with Emil Karanikolov, Bulgarian Minister of Economy, to discuss bilateral cooperation between the UAE and Bulgaria in light of challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic. During the meeting, both sides discussed ways to strengthen the international response to COVID-19 and affirmed the importance of joint action in order to curb the virus’ spread. An exchange of goods between the two sides took place to bolster both countries’ efforts to counter COVID-19.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, received a phone call from Boyko Borisov, Prime Minister of the friendly Republic of Bulgaria. During the call they discussed the mutual relations between the two countries and the steps for their development in all areas, and they also focused on a number of regional and international issues of common concern. The two sides discussed - during the phone call - the measures taken by the two countries to combat coronavirus, COVID-19, and mitigate its impact. They stressed the importance of joint cooperation and coordination to face the COVID-19 challenge.
