Her Excellency Noura Al Kaabi, Minister of State, met with His Excellency Nasser Yassin, Coordinator of the Government Emergency Committee and Lebanon’s caretaker Minister of Environment, in Paris during the International Conference in Support of Lebanon's People and Sovereignty, which was organized by the President of France, and hosted in the French capital, Paris, on Thursday. The conference saw the participation of 70 countries, the UN, the EU, as well as international and regional organizations.

During the meeting, H.E. Al Kaabi affirmed the UAE’s solidarity and support to the brotherly Lebanese people during the current challenging period. In this regard, the UAE will continue its humanitarian efforts by providing urgent relief through several initiatives, following the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE President, to provide support as part of the country’s unwavering approach to address the serious humanitarian conditions and meet the needs of the brotherly Lebanese people.

Her Excellency also affirmed that the UAE condemns the continuous Israeli violations of the UN Security Council’s Resolutions, particularly Resolution 1701, which is reflected in its ongoing aggression on Lebanese territory. Furthermore,  Her Excellency emphasized that the increasingly dangerous escalation of the conflict in the Middle East worsens humanitarian, political, and security crises, posing a significant threat to the safety and lives of civilians.

Moreover, Her Excellency expressed the UAE’s deep concern with the ongoing developments in Lebanon, the repercussions of the dangerous escalation, and its impact on regional stability. In this regard, Her Excellency emphasized the need for concerted international efforts to achieve a ceasefire and provide full protection for civilians according to the international law.

For his part, H.E. Yassin commended the UAE’s relief endeavors for the Lebanese people, highlighting the country’s leading role in providing all forms of support to Lebanon during the ongoing critical circumstances.

His Excellency expressed his appreciation to the UAE for the continuous aid and support provided to Lebanon since the beginning of the crisis, which included USD 100 million of urgent relief packages, USD 30 million of aid to Lebanese refugees in the Syrian Arab Republic, as well as other relief, medical, food, and shelter supplies. The aid was delivered as part of the ‘UAE Stands with Lebanon’ campaign, including the ship that arrived today at Beirut Port, carrying 2,000 tonnes of relief and medical supplies to meet the needs of the Lebanese people, who highly appreciate the support of the UAE’s leadership and people during this crisis.
