  • Holders of diplomatic, official, and ordinary passports are exempt from visa requirements when entering the United Arab Emirates.

Holder of passport which requires entry visa to the UAE may apply through visa sponsors as follows:

  • Hotels in the UAE
  • Airlines operating in the UAE (Eg; Emirates Airline, Etihad Airways)
  • Company registered in the UAE
  • Contact person currently a UAE resident or UAE citizen

Medication brought into the country:

  • Individuals may bring medicine into the country for their personal use
  • Visitors are allowed to bring up to 3 months’ supply of prescribed medicines 
  • UAE residents are allowed to bring up to 12 months’ supply and are required to produce doctor’s letter or a copy of the original prescription. 
  • The above guidelines on medicines brought in by an individual applies to arrivals at the airports, land and sea borders and medicines arriving by post.
  • Travellers must ensure that medicines prescribed in their home countries are not under restriction before travelling to the UAE. 
  • The UAE Ministry of Health’s Drug Control Department has published a list of controlled medicines and medications and the Customer Service Centre of the department can be contacted by email: drugcl.csc@moh.gov.ae, by telephone: +971 2 611 7240 or by fax: +971 2 632 7644.
