Can I Legalise/Attest My Document at the UAE Embassy in London?

The UAE Embassy in London provides attestation/legalisation service for documents issued by the following countries:

The United Arab Emirates
The United Kingdom
The Republic of Ireland
Iceland

In order to attest/legalise your documents by the UAE Embassy in London, they must be legalised first by their respective foreign office, as per the guidelines below:

UAE issued documents must be legalised by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA).
UK issued documents must be legalised by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO).
Ireland issued documents must be legalised by the Irish foreign office (DFA).
Iceland issued documents must be legalised by the Icelandic foreign office.
British Overseas Territories issued documents must be apostilled by the Government of the relevant Territory and legalised by the Commonwealth and Overseas Development Office (FCDO).
Channel Islands and Crown Dependencies issued documents must first be legalised by their respective Foreign Office.

What Type of Documents Does the UAE Embassy in London Accept?

The UAE Embassy in London can legalise all personal and commercial documents.
Official personal documents such as marriage, birth, and death certificates, etc. must be submitted in their original form for attestation.
All other documents, whether original or true copy, will be accepted, as long as the submitted document is legalised by its respective foreign office.
Documents apostilled in a bundle are not accepted. They should be apostilled separately.
Power of attorney and similar legal documents must be signed in the presence of a UK solicitor or notary before being submitted to their respective foreign office.
A power of attorney containing any commercial content will be treated as a commercial document.
Memorandum and articles of association must be separately legalised.
Laminated documents cannot be legalised by the UAE Embassy in London, please remove the lamination before sending the documents to us.

Can I Send Non-UK, Irish, or Icelandic Documents to the UAE Embassy in London?

Non-UK, Irish, or Icelandic documents must be legalised by our UAE Embassy/Consulate in their relevant country.

How Can I Pay for the Attestation Service?

To apply for the attestation service, you will need to complete the attestation form and make the payment online using the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) website. To apply, please visit the following link: MOFA Attestation Service
To use this service, you will need to create an account by registering with UAE Pass or signing up as a company.
You can only pay for up to 5 documents per transaction. The payment includes the attestation fees, and the courier fees (collection and return of your documents within the UK).

What Is the Next Step After Paying for the Service Online?

Your documents must be physically sent to us for attestation. After payment, VFS will contact you to arrange for collection, as described in the steps below:

1. VFS will email you to acknowledge receipt of the application, providing a link to initiate the collection process. You'll need to enter the ATS application number to start the process.
2. After your application is confirmed, you'll receive another email with a one-time password valid for 10 minutes. Use this password to create the air waybill for VFS's courier partner to collect your documents. In the logistics section, please enter the address where you want the documents to be collected from.
3. You will receive the generated confirmed air waybill, followed by an email confirming the date and time slot for collection.
4. You need to print out the air waybill, attach it to your documents, and have them ready for collection by VFS's courier partner.
5. For the return of the documents, VFS will contact you once the process is completed to send the documents back to you.
