EMBASSY OF THE UAE IN LISBON

  • The Embassy of the United Arab Emirates opened in Lisbon on March 11, 2010. The Embassy building was officially opened by His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, on April 1, 2011 in the presence of His Excellency Dr. Luis Amado, Portuguese Minister of Foreign Affairs.
  • Administratively, the building is situated in an area, in the middle of three Parish Councils, dating back to the 1755 earthquake and overlooks the Principe Real Garden from the front while overlooks the city of Lisbon and the Tejo River from the back. The Embassy is located about 280 meters from the Natural History Museum and the Botanic Gardens of Lisbon, and 700 meters from the metro station in the “Rato” area. The Portuguese Parliament and the Prime Minister Residence are both located one kilometer away from the Embassy, while a large number of main streets surround the area, which provides the Embassy access to many exits whether to the city center or to highways to the south and north.
  • The presence of the building in a historic area classified as heritage in the Municipality of Lisbon assumes the preservation of the classic style of the building.
