H.E. Mariam Saif Abdulla Masoud Alshamsi, Consul General of the United Arab Emirates in Guangzhou

H.E. Mariam Saif Abdulla Masoud Alshamsi serves Consul General at the Consulate General of the United Arab Emirates in Guangzhou and has an extensive diplomatic career spanning postings across Europe, North America, East Asia and key headquarters roles.

She began her diplomatic service at the UAE Mission to the United Nations (2000–2013), where she gained a wealth of diplomatic experience. From 2013 to 2017, she served as Deputy Head of Mission & Head of Political, Economic & Media Affairs at the UAE Embassy in The Hague, the Netherlands, where she played a key role in advancing UAE–EU relations. From 2017 to 2022, She served as the Head of Public Diplomacy in the UAE Embassy in Beijing, the People’s Republic of China, during which she also served as the Acting Consul General at the Consulate General of the UAE in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region from 2019 to 2021, She later served as the Political Advisor at the Ministry’s Department of East Asia and Pacific Department (2022–2023), before being appointed as Consul General of the UAE in Guangzhou, China in 2024.

H.E. Mariam Saif Abdulla Masoud Alshamsi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Fordham University of New York, and a Master’s degree in Science from The New School University of New York .
