His Excellency Nechirvan Barzani, President of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, received on Monday at the presidential palace His Excellency Ahmed Al Dhaheri, Consul General of the UAE in the region.
During the meeting, the Consul General conveyed to the President of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq the greetings of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, "may God protect him", His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.
The meeting dealt with the bilateral relations between the UAE and the Republic of Iraq, especially the Kurdistan region, where the UAE Consul affirmed his country's keenness to strive towards strengthening and developing bilateral cooperation relations in all fields.
During the meeting, His Excellency delivered an invitation from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, "may God protect him", to the President of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq to visit the country.
For his part, the President of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq expressed his thanks to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, praising the distinguished relations between the Emirates, Iraq and the Kurdistan region, and requested to convey his greetings to the wise leadership of the United Arab Emirates.
