UAE Delegation Concludes Successful Mission to Ireland, Exploring New Opportunities in Science, Technology and Trade

A UAE delegation led by His Excellency Omran Sharaf, Assistant Foreign Minister for Advanced Science and Technology, has concluded a successful two-day mission to Dublin, Ireland. The visit focused on exploring potential collaboration opportunities in advanced science, emerging and critical technologies, and economic and trade sectors, further reinforcing the UAE’s commitment to strengthening strong international partnerships.
 
Representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs accompanied H.E. Sharaf, along with representatives from prominent UAE entities including the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Manufacturing (MOIAT), the Ministry of Economy, the Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC), Technology Innovation Institute (TII), ASPIRE, G42, the UAE Chamber of Commerce, and the International Chamber of Commerce in the UAE. Their participation underscored the UAE’s collaborative approach across diverse sectors.
 
H.E. Omran Sharaf said: “This visit has reaffirmed the strong foundations of collaboration between the UAE and Ireland in advanced science and emerging technology. We look forward to building on these discussions and creating impactful opportunities that contribute to our shared goals in the areas of advanced science, emerging technology, and various economic opportunities.”
 
His Excellency Mohammed Al Shamsi, the UAE’s Ambassador to Ireland, stated: “This visit, led by His Excellency Omran Sharaf and accompanied by delegates from various ministries represents a steadfast commitment to nurturing our relationship with Ireland. The discussions held with Irish ministries, academic institutions, professors, and government agencies were not just productive; they were a testament to our shared interests and aspirations.
 
“The visit focused on several critical areas, such as space, science, research, artificial intelligence, and advancing trade and economic ties, all while fostering a deeper political understanding between the UAE and Ireland.” he added.
 
During the mission, the delegation engaged in productive meetings with numerous significant Irish organizations, including the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), the Department of Enterprise, Trade, and Employment (DETE), the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science (DFHERIS), Enterprise Ireland (EI), Knowledge Transfer Ireland (KTI), and the AI Advisory Council. Discussions focused on identifying areas of mutual interest and laying the groundwork to build long-term partnerships that foster innovation, economic growth, and technological advancement.
