Her Excellency Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi: Emirati women are an inspiring example of empowerment in the region and worldwide
On International Women’s Day, Her Excellency Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of State, affirmed that Emirati women embody the vision of the country’s founding father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, concerning the role of women in building the nation.
This vision has been furthered through the approach of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE President, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, in strengthening the role of women in all fields and empowering them as essential partners in the UAE’s development.
Her Excellency noted that Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF), has also played a pivotal role in promoting the advancement and leadership of Emirati women.
By investing in women’s contributions to future-focused industries such as artificial intelligence, innovation, and technology, the UAE continues to affirm that women's energies and capabilities are limitless.
Her Excellency added: "As the UAE prepares to host the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28) in November 2023, we continue to emphasize the importance of including women's perspectives in all discussions, as we have ensured that women make up two-thirds of the COP28 leadership team. Women also represent more than 50% of the management team, as we aim to champion a sustainable approach that encourages gender equality.”
Her Excellency underscored that Emirati women continue to stand as an inspiring model of empowerment in the region and worldwide. Over the next 50 years, women are poised to further solidify the UAE’s position as a nation where security, social support, and economic opportunity flourish.
