The Emirates Red Crescent, ERC, today distributed 2,000 food baskets (Ramadan Mir) to poor families and those with special needs in Ash Shihr District, Hadramaut Governorate, as per the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to assist the people and reduce the effects of the economic crisis caused by the war started by the Houthi militias against the Yemeni people.
The distribution of the aid was attended by Amin Saeed Barozaiq, Director-General of Ash Shihr District, and Musbeh Al Abd Al Bahsani, Deputy Director-General of Ash Shihr District.
Ahmed Al Neyadi, Head of the ERC Team, said, in his press statement after the distribution, that the ERC’s relief and humanitarian projects in Hadramaut are part of the directives His Highness Sheikh Mohamed and the ERC’s efforts to support the liberated areas of Yemen.
He also praised the cooperation of local authorities and residents, which helped the delivery of aid to those deserving.
Barozaiq praised the efforts of the ERC team in Hadramaut and thanked the UAE’s government and people for their historic actions to help Yemenis overcome their difficult conditions.
The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to the UAE for the relief aid distributed by the ERC team, which came just in time, due to the total absence of the means of earning their livelihood and their worsening humanitarian and economic conditions, caused by the war started by the Houthis.
