The Congress of the Republic of Peru has honoured Mohammed Yusouf Al Awadi, UAE Ambassador to Peru, in recognition of his efforts to strengthen the ties of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
President of the Congress of the Republic of Peru, Luz Salgado Rubianes, and the state's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Victor Ricardo Luna Mendoza were in attendance, along with other heads of missions accredited to Peru.
During her welcome speech, Rubianes referred to her recent visit to the UAE to attend the Global Summit of Women Speakers of Parliament, held in December 2016. She also highlighted the importance of participating in international forums to strengthen frameworks of cooperation between nations.
