The United Arab Emirates Consulate in Los Angeles has donated various electronic devices including, TVs and computers, as well as games and sporting equipment to the King Fahad Mosque’s Muslim Youth Symposium of America, MYSA, new youth centre.
MYSA’s new facility is open to the local community welcoming all faiths and backgrounds as a safe place after school while promoting mutual dialogue and understanding between Muslims and other religions.
"The UAE is ranked as the world’s top aid donor for the third consecutive year per capita," said Abdulla Alsaboosi, Consul General of the UAE in Los Angeles.
"I am happy my country is supporting the local Los Angeles community, my second home, and promotes our shared UAE-US interest and values," he added.
The donation supports the UAE’s ongoing humanitarian efforts in the city and aligns with the country’s 2017 #Year of Giving, declared by the President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. This initiative truly reflects the Emirati spirit of philanthropy that has been laid by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
The Consulate General in Los Angeles continues to support the Year of Giving initiative through various philanthropic work, where future activities will coincide with the initiative.
