Dr. Obaid Al Ketbi, UAE Ambassador to Australia, met Marise Payne, Australian Minister of Defence, here on Tuesday.
The meeting witnessed discussions on ways to strengthen bilateral ties and defence co-operation.
Payne praised the vital role played by the UAE in the region and described it as a key partner of Australia. She also lauded the interest of the UAE leadership in supporting regional peace and resolving disputes in the Middle East through peaceful means.
The meeting also reviewed the role that the UAE could play in combatting terrorism, extremism and violence.
