The third meeting of the UAE-Belarus Consular Commission was held on Wednesday at the headquarters of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Minsk.
The meeting was headed from the UAE by Mohammed Mir Abdullah Al Raisi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, while the Belarusian side was headed by Evgeny Shestakov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus.
The two sides discussed a number of common consular topics and the plans of following up and developing them. They also explored the means of strengthening joint consular co-operation in the future.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the consular services, citizen affairs, foreign expatriate affairs, and legal affairs departments, the European Affairs Department, the International Security Cooperation Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and representatives of the Ministry of Interior.
Mohammed Mir met Vladimir Makei, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs, and discussed the areas of joint co-operation in various fields, and the means of strengthening and developing it to the common benefit of both the friendly countries.
He also conveyed the greetings of H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and Dr. Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, and their wishes for this meeting to succeed.
He praised the UAE-Belarus relations, stressing the interest of the UAE to strengthen and develop these ties to reflect the ambitions and directions of the supreme command in both countries.
"The bilateral relations between the UAE and Belarus witnessed prominent achievements, which contributed directly to improving ties and moving forward with them, whether on a bilateral or international level," he said.
The Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs praised the development of bilateral relations between the two countries during the past years, especially in the consular field. He valued the level of economic and political co-operation achieved in different fields.
He also highlighted the role of the UAE on the international humanitarian stage and its effective contribution in easing the modern humanitarian crises.
