UAE Ambassador hands financial grant to children's cancer centre in Addis Ababa.
Ghazi Abdullah Salem Al Mehri, UAE Ambassador to the Republic of Ethiopia today handed a donation cheque from the Sharjah City International charity organisation to a children's cancer centre in Addis Ababa in the presence of representatives of the Health Promotion and Disease Prevention General Directorate from the Ethiopian Ministry of Health.
Ambassador Al Mehri said that the financial grant reflects the keenness of charitable societies and institutions in the UAE to support cancer patients. He also wished a speedy recovery for the children receiving treatment at the centre.
Al Mehri highlighted the UAE's active role in providing humanitarian assistance and support of charitable institutions in Ethiopia, adding that the UAE Embassy is coordinating with official bodies within the country to organise and implement several charitable projects, including building schools and digging of water wells, among others.
