UAE Ambassador meets India's Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs.

Dr. Ahmed Abdul Rahman Al-Banna, UAE Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of India, has met with Arun Jaitley, the Minister of Finance and Minister of Corporate Affairs in New Delhi.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed issues of cooperation in the finance and trade sectors.

Dr. Ahmed Al-Banna communicated ways of financial and economic cooperation between the UAE and India across multilateral forums such as the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, OECD, and the G20.

Al-Banna highlighted the commitment and dedication of the UAE in developing the required legal framework to meet the standards of the OECD committees for information exchange for tax purposes. He also briefed the Indian Minister on the operations of UAE financial and banking institutions in India.

Jaitley talked about the various initiatives undertaken by the current government to attract foreign direct investment in India, especially within the railways, defence, services and manufacturing industries.
