Dr. Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, today received Dr. Riad Hijab, General Coordinator of the High Negotiations Committee for the Syrian Revolution and Opposition Forces, and his deputy Yahya Kadamani, to discuss the latest developments in the Syrian crisis and efforts being made by the Committee and the international community to reach a political solution that ends the suffering of the Syrian people.
Dr. Gargash stressed that the UAE believes in the need for a political solution that ends the suffering of Syrians and contributes to the fight against all forms of terrorism.
He further stressed that the UAE will continue to support all relevant efforts.
Gargash also highlighted the need for the High Negotiations Committee for the Syrian Revolution and Opposition Forces to continue its involvement and efforts in all areas that support such a solution.
Dr. Hijab hailed the UAE's efforts and support for the Syrian people in all areas and humanitarian assistance in particular.
Ahmed Abdulrahman Al Jarman, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for Political Affairs, attended the meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in Abu Dhabi.
