UAE Ambassador attends Annual Arab Week in Mexico.

UAE Ambassador to Mexico Ahmed Almenhali, has attended the "Annual Arab Week" event, held at the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs' headquarters in the presence of Mexico's Secretary of Foreign Affairs Luis Videgaray Caso, Arab ambassadors accredited to Mexico, legislators and representatives of cultural institutions.

Caso stressed his country's keenness on enhancing relations with the Arab countries. He also noted that the historic visit of Mexican president to a number of GCC states in January 2016, contributed to increasing high -profile mutual visits of officials from the two sides.

He referred to opportunities which could further boost mutual cooperation and increase investment volume between Mexico and the Arab countries.

The Arab Week is a joint project of the Mexican Foreign Ministry, the Council of Arab Ambassadors in Mexico, the Senate, ProMexico, the National Autonomous University of Mexico, El Colegio de Mexico and other Mexican institutions, whose goal is to raise awareness in Mexico of the rich culture of the Arab-speaking countries and encourage closer social, academic and economic relations with the Arab world.

This year will see more academic conferences, exhibits and various cultural sessions related to the Arab culture. In addition, there will be an economic and trade-related event, a weeklong Arab film festival and the Council of Arab Ambassadors will visit a Mexican state.
