
The UAE is keen on empowering the youth to improve their skills and take the lead in the business sector, Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Minister of State for International Cooperation and Director-General of Expo 2020 Dubai Bureau, said today while participating in the Mohamed bin Zayed Majlis for Future Generations.
The UAE decided to host Expo 2020 because it will provide a platform for the government and people to make a difference for human progress, she said in a session held at the conclusion of the gathering to highlight Expo 2020.
Expo 2020 Dubai, which has the central theme of 'Connecting Minds, Creating the Future', will be the first in the Arab region and the Middle East, she noted.
Twenty per cent of direct and indirect spending on the event was allocated for small and medium-size enterprises, Minister Al Hashemi said.
