The UAE Embassy in Paris Wednesday observed the UAE National Day for the first time at Louvre Museum, Paris, in the presence of Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, Minister of State, Dr. Abdul Rahman bin Mohammad bin Nasser Al Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention, Minister of State for Federal National Council Affairs, and the UAE Ambassador to France Omar Saif Ghobash.
Addressing the reception, Ambassador Ghobash recalled the eminent role played by the Founding Father, late Sheikh Zayed in establishing the Union on basis of tolerance, peaceful co-existence and openness to the entire world.
"We are proud to observe the 46th anniversary of the establishment of the UAE here today in a celebration that reflects the privileged bonds between the UAE and France," said Nusseibeh, noting that the current distinctive relations between the two nations are attributable to the country's wise leadership who laid the foundation stone for a blossoming partnership based on values of tolerance, fraternity and concerted efforts in areas of knowledge and education.
Addressing the function as well, Minister Al Owais lauded the distinguished cultural relations between UAE and France, highlighting in this regard the recent opening of Louvre Abu Dhabi as a major milestone in further advancing these relations to a higher level of distinction.
It's noteworthy that around 70 UAE students are enrolled in diverse and rigorous majors in France, including medicine, law, and security and political sciences.
Dignitaries who attended the function included former French Prime Minister Laurent Fabius, and the speaker of the French Constitutional Council, along with a number of delegates, diplomats and political, business, and media figures as well as UAE students learning in the French capital.
Abdullah Musabah Al Naimi the Chairperson of UAE Permanent Delegate to UNESCO, and number of representatives of the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation attended the function as well.
