Ministry of Foreign Affairs observes National Day.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, MoFAIC, Wednesday celebrated the 46th UAE National Day through an array of various cultural heritage activities.

Attending the function were Dr. Anwar Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, and a large number of ambassadors accredited to the UAE in addition to top MoFAIC executives.

The celebration started with the National Anthem of the UAE played to the audience, followed by a congratulatory word by Dr. Gargash who extended sincere greetings to President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and Their Highnesses Ruler of the Emirates as well as the UAE people on the auspicious occasion.

"Today we observe the 46th anniversary of the establishment of the Union which saw the light thanks to the insightful vision of late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the determination of the UAE people, thanks to whom the country has succeeded to secure a distinguished stature in the history of the region," Dr. Gargash said.

"Our Union is founded on a solid basis, with the UAE now becoming a modern state whose citizens and residents boast the best of world living standards and enjoying an atmosphere of peaceful co-existence and stability that ensures sustainable development and opens up infinite prospects of progress and growth."

The celebration featured folkloric shows that included local foods and handicrafts as well as traditional paintings and cultrual contests about the country's history and heritage.
