HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed discusses strengthening bilateral relations with Italian Prime Minister

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, discussed with Matteo Renzi, the Prime Minister of Italy, ways of enhancing discussions on a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest.

The discussions took place during a meeting between His Highness Sheikh Mohamed and his accompanying delegation with Prime Minister Renzi.

Renzi welcomed His Highness and expressed his appreciation for the important visit that contributes to the strengthening of bilateral cooperation between both countries and its peoples.

The meeting, which was attended by His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, included a review of the overall bilateral relations between the two countries. Both sides discussed several possibilities for their enhancement, including capitalising on the resources of both nations in an effort to evolve economic and investment relations.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed stressed that under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE aims to enhance friendships and cooperation for the mutual benefit of both nations.

H.H. Sheikh Mohamed stressed the importance of the meetings between the two sides in exploring new opportunities to strengthen relations, build broader bilateral cooperation and increase the chances of establishing effective partnerships in the economic, trade and development sectors.

The Italian Prime Minister expressed his confidence that relations between the two countries will flourish, due, in particular, to the sincere desire of both sides to strengthen their cooperation in various sectors.

The meeting also included discussions on current regional and international developments and a number of other issues of mutual concern.

Accompanying His Highness was a delegation comprised of Reem Al Hashemi, Minister of State for International Cooperation, Ali bin Hammad Al Shamsi, Deputy Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for National Security, Khaldoon Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Executive Affairs Authority, Mohammed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Under-Secretary of the Crown Prince's Court, and Saqr Nasser Al Raisi, UAE Ambassador to Italy.

The meeting was attended from the Italian side by Maria Angela Zappia, Diplomatic Advisor to the Prime Minister, Liborio Stellino, Ambassador of the Republic of Italy in the UAE, Carmine Masiello, Military Adviser to the Prime Minister, Filippo Sensi, Spokesman for the Prime Minister, Marco Simoni, Economic Advisor of the Prime Minister and a number of Italian officials.
