Launch of second edition of Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Excellence Award

The Strategic Planning and Corporate Excellence Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, held a workshop at the ministry on the second edition of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Excellence Award.

The event was attended by a number of directors of departments and employees of the ministry.

At the beginning of the workshop, H.E. Khalid Abdulla Belhoul, Director of the Department, welcomed the audience, stressing the importance of the award, which has been updated based on the changes and developments that have occurred in the fourth generation of the excellence system.

Belhoul pointed out that the most prominent features of the second edition of the excellence award take into account the nature of work and the specificity of organisational units of the ministry, and focusses on achieving the main objectives assigned to offices and missions of the ministry, as well as the creation of organs of the ministry to participate in the Mohammed Bin Rashid Award for Excellence in Government Performance.

For her part, Fatima Majid Al Falasi from the department, referred to the conditions for participation in the award of 16 categories,She highlighted the electronic submission system that facilitates the application and evaluation process, and makes it simpler compared with the first edition of the award.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Excellence Award was issued in 2014, It was one of the first excellence awards applied at the internal level at the ministries, and at the federal and local levels as well.

It is the driving force for the development of institutional and functional performance of the ministry, and enables it to provide quality services to all clients and beneficiaries of its services.

The award aims to make a real quantum leap in terms of applied performance, concepts and practices, and management techniques in the ministry, through the application of standards of institutional and functional excellence.
