The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MoFAIC) has announced that the UAE’s citizens could travel to the Republic of Sudan without the need for prior entry visa requirement as of 17th August 2016.

H.E. Ahmed Saeed Elham Al Dhahiri, Assistant Under-Secretary for Consular Affairs at the ministry, said the ministry received an official memo from the Government of Sudan stating that the latter issued a decision to exempt citizens of the UAE who hold diplomatic, special, mission and regular passports to enter the territory of Sudan without prior entry visa requirement.

He indicated that the move would have a positive impact on bilateral ties, particularly in areas of tourism, trade and investment, in a way that boosts joint co-operation in several spheres.
