The Latvian capital, Riga, on Thursday hosted the second round of the political consultations between the UAE and Latvia.
The meetings were co-chaired by Faris Mohammed Al Mazrouei, UAE Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for Security and Military Affairs, and Andrejs Pildegovics, the State Secretary for Foreign Affairs of Latvia.
The Latvian side welcomed the UAE delegation, stressing the importance of exchanging visits between the officials of the two countries - a move that could strengthen bilateral relations.
Al Mazrouei stressed the keenness of the UAE to bolster relations in all fields in the best interests of the two countries.
The two sides reviewed a number of issues of mutual concern. They also exchanged views on the latest regional and international developments.
Among others present were Mohammed Ismail Al Sahlawi, Deputy Director of the European Affairs Department at the ministry, and Inese Freimane-Deksne, Head of Middle East and Africa Division at the Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
