UAE partakes in international conference on economic recovery and ​development of Mali

Deputy Director of the Department of International Security Cooperation at the UAE Foreign Ministry, Mohammed Ali Al Shamsi, participated in the recent international conference for the economic recovery and development of Mali, held at the Paris-based Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

French President Francois Hollande, Malian President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita, opened the conference in the presence of and representatives of the OECD members, the United Nations, the European Union, international organisations, funds, development agencies and nongovernmental organisations.

During the conference, Al Shamsi met with Mali's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdoulaye Diop, to discuss ways to bolster bilateral relations between the UAE and Mali.

The Malian foreign minister thanked the UAE for its humanitarian and economic contributions to the strengthening of peace and security in his country.

The minister also called upon Emirati companies to increase their investments in Mali which began to enjoy notable political and security stability.
