His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and President of Yemen, Abd Rabu Mansour Hadi, discussed fraternal and bilateral relations between the two countries, as well as the latest developments in Yemen.
This came about when Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, received the visiting Yemeni President at Al Shati Palace Abu Dhabi. Sheikh Mohamed highlighted the historic, strong and fraternal ties between the two peoples.
During the meeting, they reviewed issues of interest between the two countries, especially ways to enhance joint co-operation for the benefit of the two fraternal countries and peoples.
President Hadi briefed Sheikh Mohamed on the latest developments witnessed in the Yemeni arena, as well as the situation in reality in the light of the successive victories achieved by the Arab coalition led by Saudi Arabia through Operation Restoring Hope ", along with the legitimate Yemeni and popular resistance forces.
Hadi praised the UAE's stance under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan which supports the Yemeni people and its humanitarian contributions in various domains. He also emphasised the strong fraternal relations that notably bolster the two countries' interests as well as common Arab security.
Hadi also pointed to the position of the UAE's leadership, government and people in raising the spirits of the Yemenis, due to the country's stance, humanitarian initiatives and sacrifices in Yemen.
The meeting also tackled peace efforts based on the United Nations Security Council Resolution No. 2216 and its implementation mechanisms, as well as the importance of full compliance of its terms without conditions. The Yemeni president and the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi also exchanged views on a number of issues and dossiers of interest of both countries in various fields.
Sheikh Mohamed reiterated the UAE's supportive stance within the Saudi-led Arab Coalition towards legitimacy to liberalise Yemen's lands and the Arab identity from the control of rebels, terrorist organisations and their allies, as well as restore security, stability and peace to Yemen.
The Abu Dhabi Crown Prince said that the UAE strongly believes that the security of the region and the Arab countries is indivisible and that our security in the UAE is inseparable from the security of all Arab countries, and said, "We will support our brothers strongly in the face of any plan aimed at destabilising the security and stability of our countries, as well as preserving our Arab identity.'' Sheikh Mohamed renewed the UAE's comprehensive and continuous support, efforts and development and humanitarian initiatives aimed at meeting the needs of the Yemeni people to overcome difficult obstacles.
Among those who attended the meeting were Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of State, Ali Mohammad Hammad Al Shamsi, Deputy Secretary-General of the Supreme National Security Council, Mohammed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Under-Secretary of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court, Salem Al Ghafli, UAE Ambassador to Yemen, and a number of officials.
Earlier, Hadi arrived in the UAE. He was received by H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of State, Salem Al Ghafli, UAE Ambassador to Yemen and a number of officials, at the Presidential Flight.
