UAE Ambassador participates in "Expo after Expo: the legacy of Expo 2015

HE Saqr Nasser Al Raisi, Ambassador of the UAE to Italy, delivered the UAE's speech in "Expo after Expo: the legacy of Expo 2015", at the headquarter of Expo Milan 2015, in response to an invitation of the Italian Government and the organsing committee of Expo Milan 2015.

Al Raisi talked about the international concept regarding Expo Milan 2015 and the UAE's view, as well as merits of joint cooperation between Expo Milan 2015 and Expo Dubai 2020.

A number of ministers of the Italian Government and key officials including Ministers of Agriculture, Environment, Justice, Higher Education, other senior Italian officials, and number of experts participated in the event.

The UAE diplomat extended thanks on behalf of the Government of the UAE and the organisers of Dubai Expo 2020 for the warm welcome since the beginning of the opening ceremony seen by millions on television, who enjoyed the songs sung by Andrea Bocelli,and the charming music composed by the Chinese pianist, Lang Lang in front of Piazza del Duomo, Milan.

He said that Expo Milan 2015 will leave a notable and valuable legacy within the provided Charter of Milan to the United Nations, which aimed to promote the sustainability of the world in terms of agricultural and food perspective, adding, " With all these notable achievements in reality, including the promotion and support of the Italian economy and highlighting Milan as a desirable destination, we can only say that ''Milan, you have done well and said, "Bravissimo Milano!".

Al Rais also added, '' As you know, we will organise Dubai Expo 2020 and we know the huge responsibility laid on us and the work ahead. We are sure that it is necessary to choose a slogan which will be associated with era and the world we live. It was necessary for us to find an outstanding model that reflects the identity and spirit of the UAE, as well as represents the current needs of the whole world. We have chosen a strong and persuasive slogan that provides a comprehensive logo."

He noted that the theme 'Connecting Minds, Creating the Future' realises that human being is a social creature who is being driven by basic instincts which pushes him to cooperate so as to find collective solutions and achieve common goals that cannot be devoid by any newspaper in the world today.

He also added, '' We are planning to organise an event which concentrates on sustainability principle, wishing to promote climate change forums into new levels of international dialogue."

Al Raisi confirmed. '' Our success in organising Dubai Expo 2010 in a distinguished image would enhance the UAE's reputation at the international arena, where we are going to present a very outstanding event."
