The Relations between both countries were officially instated on March 11th, 2010.
on November - 2017 the Republic of Costa Rica inaugurated their embassy in Abu Dhabi while the United Arab Emirates Embassy was officially opened in Costa Rica in August - 2018.
In 2019, the Foreign Commerce Promotion Agency of Costa Rica opened a business office through the Commerce and Industry Chamber at Dubai.
Both countries continue to aspire to strengthen their relations and cooperation especially in fields such as Sustainable Development, Renewable Energies, and investment reciprocity.
Taking into account that Costa Rica is considered one of the main leaders regarding environmental protection which works perfectly within the UAE’s desire to become a global green economy, renewable energy and Sustainable development center.
