  • Diplomatic relations were established between the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Belarus in 1992. The Embassy of the Republic of Belarus was opened in Abu Dhabi in 1999, and the UAE Embassy in Minsk was opened in 2008. 
  • Bilateral relations began to develop dynamically, which led to political cooperation and mutual support of each other's positions in the international arena. 
  • As for economic relations between the two countries, they are at a good level and are constantly evolving. 
  • The United Arab Emirates is the main strategic partner of the Republic of Belarus among the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council and the region. 
  • The states signed about 25 bilateral agreements and memorandums of understanding. The United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Belarus are linked by strong strategic relations and the proximity of political views.

  • Since 1992 the Emirati-Belarus relations have been based on friendship and cooperation in various fields, These relations were established by the founder of the state, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al-Nahyan, and continued to develop under the patronage of the President of the UAE, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, Ruler of Dubai, and Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
  • Relations between the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Belarus are built on the basis of mutual respect and common interests due to close cooperation between the political leadership of the two countries, as well as through regular visits at the highest and ministerial levels, the exchange of the official delegations and participation in exhibitions and conferences. 
  • Emirati-Belarusian relations are not limited only by political and economic cooperation, but also extend to cultural and scientific cooperation between the two countries, Students of the Belarusian Academy of Arts visited the United Arab Emirates to participate in the Arts Days of Belarus in Abu Dhabi that took place from April 4 to May 9, 2016.
  • Both countries attach great importance to bilateral relations as a result of political will due to which a close partnership has been established in various fields and is not limited by cooperation only in the political sphere, but also includes cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, investment, energy, climate change, international development, culture, education, health care, sports, consular relations, cooperation in international organizations, the fight against terrorism and human rights. 
  • The third meeting of the Joint Committee on Cooperation between the two countries was held on December 16, 2016 and the Emirati side was headed by Dr.Anwar Mohammed Gargash, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, and Belarus - Vladimir Makei, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, The meeting was attended by a number of representatives of federal and local authorities, chambers of commerce, private sector companies, as well as their colleagues from the Belarusian side, During the meeting a number of bilateral agreements were signed. 
  • As part of scientific cooperation, students of the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radio Electronics took part in a scientific symposium organized by the Abu Dhabi College of High Technologies in April 2015. And in May 2015, the Emirati delegation, at the invitation of the rector of the Belarusian State University, attended the Nanomeeting-2015 scientific symposium in the Republic of Belarus. 
  • There are also cooperation projects in the field of high technologies between the respective scientific bodies of the two countries. 
  • The third meeting of the Business Council between the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Belarus was held in Minsk on September 25, 2017, The Emirate delegation was led by the Secretary General of the UAE Union of Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Humid Mohammed bin Salem, and the Belarusian side by Vladimir Ulakhovich, chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and a number of businessmen from both countries attended the meeting. 
  • The third session of consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus on consular issues was held in Minsk on May 10, 2017, The Emirati side was headed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the UAE, Mohammad Meer Abdullah Alraeesi, and the Belarusian side was headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Evgeny Shestakov, During the consultations the parties discussed all issues related to the prospects for the development of cooperation between the UAE and Belarus in the consular sphere.
