On March 9, 2018, His Highness Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the UAE, and Her Excellency Louise Mushikiwabo, then Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Rwanda, inaugurated the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Kigali.
Diplomatic relations between the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Rwanda were established within the framework of the two countries’ commitment to strengthening cooperation, exchanging official visits, and coordinating on issues of mutual interest, paving the way for the opening of the UAE Embassy in Kigali and reflecting the steady development of bilateral relations.
The opening of the UAE Embassy in Kigali reflects the UAE’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with the Republic of Rwanda and expanding avenues of cooperation across various fields.
The Embassy also contributes to enhancing communication between the two friendly countries and peoples, consolidating their distinguished bilateral relations, and promoting cooperation in the political, economic, cultural, and developmental sectors.
The Embassy plays an important role in representing the United Arab Emirates in the Republic of Rwanda, safeguarding the interests of the UAE and its citizens, and strengthening coordination and cooperation between the two countries across various sectors.
